  80.  software  through computer  bulletin  boards  was the  very logical
  81.  solution that  soon  became  standard  procedure for  all Shareware
  82.  authors.  By allowing  programs to be copied  from  bulletin boards
  83.  and shared  with  few  restrictions, Shareware  is able  to reach a
  84.  much greater number of users.

  136.  The shareware concept makes it possible for you to obtain extremely
  137.  powerful software at  a price you can afford, and  it gives you the
  138.  opportunity to try the software before you register.
  139.  The   Association   of   Shareware   Professionals   (ASP),  is  an
  140.  organization  formed to strengthen  the  future of  shareware.  Its
  141.  members, all  of whom are programmers  that subscribe to a  code of
  142.  ethics, are  committed to the concept  of shareware as a  method of
  143.  marketing.
  144.  The ASP sets standards for its members and their shareware products
  145.  which provide  (among other things)  that programs produced  by ASP
  146.  members must be fully documented, non-crippled, and offered with at
  147.  least a minimum level of support.  It also  sets the  standards for
  148.  shareware  disk  vendors  and  provides  information to  the public
  149.  about shareware.
  150.  Shareware  software is  a  unique  marketing approach  which allows
  151.  consumers to  purchase  software  directly  from  the author.  This
  152.  eliminates  costly  marketing,  promotion,  and packaging; allowing
  153.  consumers  to  obtain  quality  software   at  a  fraction  of  the
  154.  commercial  cost.  Shareware  authors  allow  their  programs to be
  155.  copied and  distributed with few restrictions.  Shareware users are
  156.  encouraged  to  examine  a  program,  copy  it,  and  pass it on to
  157.  friends.  If users find the software program useful, they are asked
  158.  to register with the software author.  This usually  means paying a
  159.  registration fee directly to the  shareware author.  In  return for
  160.  this  registration fee,  "registered  users"  receive the  right to
  161.  continue  to  use  the  software  and  added  benefits such as full
  162.  documentation,  technical  support,  and   future  updates  of  the
  163.  program.
  164.  Registration is the key to  success for the  shareware concept.  If
  165.  you try  a program and  it does  not  meet your needs,  you are not
  166.  expected to register.  However, if you try a  program, like it, and
  167.  continue  to  use  it,  you  should  compensate  the  author with a
  168.  registration fee.  Registration also insures further development of
  169.  the  program.  Shareware  is  the  "try-before-you-buy"   method of
  170.  software  distribution that  will  literally  save you  hundreds of
  171.  dollars on software purchases.

  214.  The registration price for a shareware is usually very small ($5.00
  215.  -  $85.00 US).  Registering  a  program  brings  with it additional
  216.  benefits.  In most cases, you  will get the  latest version  of the
  217.  program  and   a  printed  manual.  Most   shareware  programs  are
  218.  constantly  being improved  so when  you register,  there is a good
  219.  chance  that  you  will  get  a  newer  version  the  one  you  are
  220.  registering for.  You will also be  eligible for technical  support

  222.  will also  be free of any  trailers or opening (nag) screens on it,

  1025.  AutoCon is essentially a database manager for your AUTOEXEC.BAT and
  1026.  CONFIG.SYS  files. It  enables you  to keep  up to  fifty different
  1027.  configurations, and to change easily between those configurations.
  1028.  The  first  time  you  run  AutoCon,  it  will  create a file named
  1029.  AUTOCON.DAT.  That file  will contain  five configuration  records.
  1030.  Each record will contain a  copy of the AUTOEXEC.BAT and CONFIG.SYS
  1031.  files from the C: drive. The records are initially named RECORD01 -
  1032.  RECORD05. When you  set up a configuration for  a specific purpose,
  1033.  you  can change  the name  to reflect  that purpose (something like
  1034.  Win3 for a  Microsoft Windows configuration, and SDOS  for a simple
  1035.  DOS configuration). You can add more records by hitting the F3 key.
  1036.  AutoCon incorporates a full-screen editor to make it easy to change
  1037.  the    AUTOEXEC/CONFIG    records.    The    editor    uses   Turbo
  1038.  IDE/Sidekick/WS-compatible keystrokes. If you are not familiar with
  1039.  these,  there  is  an  on-line  help  file  which  details  all the
  1040.  keystrokes. If  you desire, you  can change the  editor keystrokes.
  1041.  The F6 key will pop up a key editor for this purpose.
  1042.  If you don't like the built-in editor, you can configure AutoCon to
  1043.  use a different  one. The ^F6 key combination will  pop up a window
  1044.  asking  for the  name of  the  editor  you wish  to run.  Since the
  1045.  configurations  will   eventually  be  used   as  AUTOEXEC.BAT  and
  1046.  CONFIG.SYS  files, the  editor must  be able  to produce pure ASCII
  1047.  files.  You can  toggle between  the internal  and external editors
  1048.  with  the ^F6  and the   ShiftF6 key  combinations. After  you have
  1049.  established your records and names, you can reconfigure your system
  1050.  by entering the name of the  new configuration on the command line.

  1052.  CONFIG  fields of  the record  named Win3  into the  boot drive  as

  1071.  will detect viruses even in compressed files. They cant!
  1072.  TranScan  uncompresses files  to their  original size  so that  the
  1073.  virus scanner can  check for viruses. While doing  so it checks the
  1074.  file for  integrity and can  also evaluate the  age or date  of the
  1075.  file. TranScan  can also test  GIF files for  integrity and minimum
  1076.  resolution.
  1077.  TranScan  recompresses  files  to  your  default compression method
  1078.  maintaining the file directory structure  and volume labels. It can
  1079.  delete unwanted files, add files, and add ARJ or ZIP file comments.
  1080.  TranScan provides  even more for  the SysOp maintaining  a Bulletin
  1081.  Board  Service (BBB).  For most  BBB software  it can process files
  1082.  immediately following  the upload while  the caller is  on-line. It
  1083.  displays  COMM output  to the  caller, tests  files for  integrity,
  1084.  viruses, age or  date, and minimum GIF resolution.  It also imports
  1085.  FILE_ID.DIZ,  DESC.SDI  and  GIF  comment  files  into the BBS file
  1086.  database. It can  also export user descriptions to  a DESC.SDI file
  1087.  placed  inside the  uploaded file.  For some  BBS software packages
  1088.  (like Wildcat) it even writes thank you messages to the user.
  1089.  TranScan is packed with features. Each feature can be selected from
  1090.  the TranScan configuration menu.  On-line context sensitive help is
  1091.  available to guide you through every step.

  1093.  of them  can compare feature  for feature. You  could use something

  1118.  slice,  elliptical pie  slice,  elliptical  arc, and  bezier curve
